Your Booster Club Needs YOU!
Now in our 7th year as an organization, we hope you find value in being a booster club member! What do you like about our organization? What do you think should change? If you have an idea about doing something new, or doing something differently, please come to our meetings and get involved! We have annual elections for Directors in June, and our By-Laws require attendance at 3 meetings prior to qualification for Director. That means March, April and May meeting attendance.
Did you know that since our inception, we have donated close to $140,000 to Lakes High School? Have you considered how we might be able to continue this giving? Part of it comes from your membership dues, of course. But it also comes from your attendance at Booster Bash (our annual dinner auction), and our Sports Programs, and even those 50/50 Raffles we have held this year. Our most recent expansion includes the Brick Memory Wall, as well as the Hospitality, Alumni & Post-Prom Committees.
There's so much more we can do, it only takes time, talent and inspired volunteers!
This year, we have had 13 Directors, and 5 are graduating! We are also looking for new Committee Chairs to lead the following committees: Fundraising, Staff Appreciation and Booster Bash! Many of us have had experience supporting our feeder school PTO's, while others have not. Without support from families like yours, we won't be able to continue the good work we have already accomplished. Please consider donating your talents to our organization -- there are many opportunities to support our school.
Click here for a list of officers/directors and how to contact them. Please reach out to any of us to learn more about our organization, and how you might be able to join in the fun!
Booster Club 50/50 Raffle
We have just two more home games to sell our 50/50 raffle tickets. We need people to walk the crowd and sell.
Feb. 17, Feb. 21
Please contact Esther Hebbard at ehebbard@comcast.net if you are willing to help.

James McKay Award
Nominations are open for the James McKay award! For those who are new to our school, James McKay became principal of LCHS in our second year. He helped us establish our Booster Club, to be a not-for-profit organization and a fundraising group that would fuel additional investments to enhance student life at Lakes. In 2010, when he accepted the opportunity to become Co-Superintendent of Dist. 117, your Booster Club established this award to honor Principal Jim McKay for his outstanding efforts to advance Lakes Community High School.
This will be our second year to recognize a member of the community whose efforts have further enhanced that vision. We need your help to select someone worthy of this recognition.
Qualified recipients are anyone who goes 'above and beyond' in support of our high school. Please consider a parent, community leader, staff member, or even a student who embodies the spirit of Eagle Pride.
We are seeking nominations for the 2011-2012 school year. All nominations must be submitted in writing to your Booster Club. Deadline is April 2, the day classes resume after Spring Break.
We are also seeking a committee chair to process all nominations, field questions, etc. The Booster Club Directors will vote in April, and the award will be delivered on May 2 at our monthly Booster Club meeting.

Alumni
Attention Parents of Alumni -
Looking for a way to honor your graduate with a memorable keepsake? Place a brick with their name and graduation year on the Memory Wall at LCHS! Recognize their achievements with an activity symbol. Imagine how much fun it will be to visit Lakes in 10 years and see their name at the beginning of the "wall". Order forms are available in the office, at the wall, or on our website. We will be taking orders through May for summer installation on the wall.
Leave a Trace....
Your son or daughter has created many memories at LCHS, now they can leave a lasting mark upon the halls of Lakes Community High School! The Booster Club is building a "Memory Wall" for families to commemorate their students years at LCHS. Bricks may be purchased in either a 4x8 or 8x8 size, with you custom inscription. Stop in the Main Office to see a rendering of the wall and to pick up an order form, or download one from our website (located in the red box on the "Home" page). This will be an ongoing project so you may purchase bricks for your future Eagles as well!
For information about the Lakes Eagles Booster Club and how you can help, contact us at webinfo@lakeseaglesboosters.org.
