Booster Club Foundation

In September of 2006, a group of parents met with Lakes Community High School Principal, Jim McKay in order to form a club to support student activities and provide parent involvement. The following were regular attendees to this group. PARENTS: Suzi Bassett, Tom Bassett, Debbie Beadle, Terry Beadle, Sue DeRose, Tracy McGrath, Barb Venturi, and Dan Venturi. STAFF: Amber Carter, Vikki Mann, Jim McKay, Troy Parola, and Julie Sexton

The group met over a period of months to develop a mission statement, by-laws, and a vision for the club. The club was named the Lakes Eagles Booster Club. The aim of the club was to provide a venue for parents to become involved in their children's high school, while providing support to the school. One of the main objectives of the club was to provide assistance to all aspects of the student experience, encompassing not only athletics, but also the fine arts, student clubs and activities, and the classroom experience.

A great deal of research, discussion and compromise went into the formation of the drafted by-laws. In addition, the group worked hard to ensure balanced representation in all aspects of student activities. With the completion of the by-laws, notice was sent out to the parent community to attend the inaugural meeting of the Lakes Eagles Booster Club (LEBC) in order to elect representation.

The LEBC was formed on January 31, 2007. At this first meeting, a Board of Directors and Executive Committee were elected. The following individuals comprised the first Board of Directors and Executive Committee:
